  We prebooked an alternate property online before our Cosmos Tours Safari. At the end of our safari, a Cosmos representative transferred us from Arusha to Kilimanjaro. The "hotel"... read more was not as advertised, to say the least, and we asked the driver to take us to a good hotel. He drove us to the Planet Lodge which turned out to be closer to the Airport for our flight home the next day. We were relieved to find a room was available in this lovely hotel.

Although we were charged high season rates in February, we were not about to argue. I feel we were taken advantage of a bit in that regard but we were not disappointed with the friendly staff, service, food, and accommodations. I lost my prescription sunglasses and approached the front desk to ask if they had been left in the lobby at check-in. The manager overheard the conversation and after determining that my glasses were not found in the lobby, he went out of his way to contact our Cosmos driver, Franklin. My glasses were found by Franklin in the van and he returned them at 9 pm that evening to me. Needless to say, I was extremely grateful to both the staff of Planet Lodge and to Franklin of Cosmos Tours. Asante Sana!

Even at high season rates, this hotel was good value for the money. The property has great security. The rooms are clean with adjustable air conditioning and great water pressure. The food was delicious with breakfast included in our overnight stay. Also included was our transfer to the airport by the hotel shuttle van. We had the opportunity to relax at their beautiful, clean pool. The gardens are lovely. The staff is friendly and accommodating.

Overall, a great experience before the 30-hour trip home to Canada.
