Overall a always a pleasant stay here, nice facilities and clean property. Lots of positives to list, things we liked: really nice clean pool and good quality pool towels; nice... read more shower with good pressure, hot water doesn't take very long so little water wastage in a watter sensitive area (shower mixer would be better option to reduce even further time wasting trying to get the right temp, just a suggestion!), modern safety box, good AC for those hot and humid days, TV and channels are standard for a 3star property, good free wifi connectiity, we liked the flip-flops in the room thought it was quirky as opposed to the normal slippers - it's more of a flip-flop-type property so it works, figuratively not pretending to be a 'slipper property' :), fresh fruit at breakfast really tasty. So a lot going for it really!
Things we thought we work or things we thought weren't nice to experience at all: $15 for a very average pizza we thought is simply too expensive, if you are accustomed to an 'international standard pizza' this simply doesn't cut it; not a fan of of the standard 3-course meal for $50pp, leaving any other options quite expensive even for internal standards - not sure why things are so expensive here, there's no need for it (?). Breakfast was included which was great otherwise $12pp if for some reason you book room only. The so-called 'beef' sausages aren't worth it in today's standard, it's highly processed and pink on colour (??), this shouldn't be the case with great butchery (Meat King) available in Arusha. Eggs were fine good yellow yolk (not underfed white yolk), bacon OK, a bit chewy the back bacon but very little fat which was great. Ironically coffee not great at all with great local Tanzanian coffee - way too strong and don't think anyone tasted before offering it, asked for a bit of milk in my coffee but got masala spicy tea instead which was some weird spicy caffeine taste, anyway not an issue just didn't drink it. Not a ran of the 'homemade' cost-saving yogurt, just not what I considequality yogurt but might be fine others. Good pastry offering of you like baked goods, nice fresh juice though.
In summary. Great overnight property with nice facilities and kind staff trying their best to accommodate your every need which is really lovely, can't fault the people at all, they make for a great East African experience. Only reservations is food quality and pricing - it's simply too expensive for what you get, that's a Management component and if they get that right and get a bit more tomorrow grips with international standards I think they have a busier restaurant and/or even higher occupancies. Location is great to Airport proximity.
Oh and John the driver need uniform of sorts, confusing when some random man collects our luggage and puts it into his car, he's a nice guy though but needs some sort of identification perhaps.
Over to you!
