Planet Lodges

  A gem of a find - I wanted to find a place close to Kilimanjaro Airport since our flight was arriving at 20:40. The Airport Planet Lodge was one of the closer lodging options to... read more JRO. We had arranged a private transfer from the Airport to the Lodge for a very reasonable $15. Angel was there to greet us when we cleared Customs. Our driver arrived 5 minutes later. The ride to the Lodge took about 10 minutes.
We were greeted by the staff and check in for our room was cordial, yet efficient. Even though it was after 22:00 they kept someone in the kitchen to make a pizza for us.
Our room was better than expected. Essentially, it was a brick bungalow. It was spacious, equipped with a safe, a mini fridge and a coffee/tea station. The bed was large and comfortable. Our room also had a large bathroom with a tub and a separate shower. We were more than pleased with the room.
The grounds are not large, but they are nice and are surrounded by a wall, so the area felt very secure. There is a nice swimming pool and a small work out facility.
I cannot say enough good things about the staff. They were so friendly and helpful.
We only stayed the one night, as we had to meet our safari tour the next day. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer.

The staff work very hard to... read more make sure your needs are met. I couldn't check in online for my next flight and reception went above and beyond to solve my problem. The grounds are beautiful, and the rooms are spacious, clean and air conditioned. I didn’t have time to try the gym, or the spa, but the pool was area was lovely. Dinner was excellent. I couldn't try the breakfast due to a very early flight but I was given a packed one which I thoroughly enjoyed at the airport after check in.

All the staff are amazing... read more and friendly! But especially, I wanted to thank Abuu for ensuring that our stay was comfortable and relaxed after our days in the bush. Also, wanted to give a shoutout to Moses, he ensures that we are happy with our meals. This hotel is recommended during and after your safari adventure.

  Very hospitable - The staff were very welcoming! My group stopped at this enchanting hotel before our flight home. They provided a delicious meal, and accommodations to the airport.

The grounds gave us... read more plenty of garden space to spend our last day while waiting for a late night flight. The pool looked very inviting but we didn’t want to haul wet suits home.
