We stayed here for 3 nights prior to embarking on a 14 day... read more photo safari in Tanzania and Kenya. It is the perfect place to rest and recover from jet lag. The accommodations are so clean, comfortable and spacious. The staff made sure that we had everything we needed and took such great care of us during the entire stay. Upon arrival we were immediately greeted by the manager, Abuu. He made us feel so welcomed and like we were part of the family. His entire staff did the same. We made so many friends that it was hard to leave! Our hosts and servers, Evarest, Husnah, Garboy, Pendo, Eva and others were so warm and friendly! We loved getting to know them. They and the entire staff provided excellent service and made us feel so very special! On our last full day there, the staff assisted us in booking a tour to Marangu. Highly recommend this tour as well. Overall our stay and experience with Airport Planet Lodge was a 5 Star Stay! From the staff, restaurant, accommodations, it’s an excellent choice. We can’t wait to go back!!

The rooms were beautiful and spacious and the bed was so comfortable - perfect after a long journey in from the US. And the food was excellent - we enjoyed every meal we had over the course of the few days we were here.

  Great place to stay near the airport. - Pickup at the airport was right when we exited customs. The agent, Angel helped us with our bags and led us to our car where the driver, Alex was waiting.... read more Checkin was seamless and we were led to our comfortable room. I removed one star bc our bathroom had a leaky toilet tank and our shower floor slanted so the water spill out to the main floor. However, on the plus side, the staff was extremely friendly and very responsive to our needs. Breakfast had great variety and I enjoyed the made-to-order omelet. I would highly recommend this lodge if a convenient stay close to the airport is needed.

  A gem of a find - I wanted to find a place close to Kilimanjaro Airport since our flight was arriving at 20:40. The Airport Planet Lodge was one of the closer lodging options to... read more JRO. We had arranged a private transfer from the Airport to the Lodge for a very reasonable $15. Angel was there to greet us when we cleared Customs. Our driver arrived 5 minutes later. The ride to the Lodge took about 10 minutes.
We were greeted by the staff and check in for our room was cordial, yet efficient. Even though it was after 22:00 they kept someone in the kitchen to make a pizza for us.
Our room was better than expected. Essentially, it was a brick bungalow. It was spacious, equipped with a safe, a mini fridge and a coffee/tea station. The bed was large and comfortable. Our room also had a large bathroom with a tub and a separate shower. We were more than pleased with the room.
The grounds are not large, but they are nice and are surrounded by a wall, so the area felt very secure. There is a nice swimming pool and a small work out facility.
I cannot say enough good things about the staff. They were so friendly and helpful.
We only stayed the one night, as we had to meet our safari tour the next day. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer.

The grounds were attractive and well-kept.... read more We didn’t use the pool, but it looked well-maintained and inviting. Sadly, we didn’t have time to use the available spa services either. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. The wall-mounted AC unit got the room cool within a few minutes. The beds are equipped with a surrounding mosquito net, though we didn’t really have any issues with bugs in our rooms or on the grounds (early June). There is a large outdoor patio dining/bar area which was very welcoming for dining and drinks. Our dinner was well-prepared and tasty, though I would have liked to see some more items that explored the local cuisine. Breakfast was buffet-style, with a nice selection of fruits, pastries, hot items, and an omelette station. The highlight of the stay was the staff who were universally friendly, conscientious, and helpful.
